The Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) is financial aid of an amount up to $2,000 per year, and it is based on financial need of the applicant who is enrolled part-time in an approved undergraduate degree program in New York state. The award is open to high school seniors and all undergraduates of any major who attends school in New York. APTS applicants need to be either a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, alien, or refugee, and they must meet income limits and not have defaulted on a previous loan. The Tuition Assistance Program-TAP Grants are grants for students of any major up to an amount of $5,000 per year, and it is based on the financial need of the applicant. The award is open to high school seniors, all undergraduates, and college graduate students in New York. The tuition help by grant is renewable through doctoral programs. You must fill out the Federal FAFSA form to apply for this grant in New York. The Veterans Tuition Awards (VTA) provides between $500 per semester for part-time study and up to $1,000 per semester for full-time study to eligible veterans enrolled at an undergraduate or graduate degree-granting college or in an approved vocational training program in New York State. You must fill out the Federal FAFSA form to apply for this award in New York. You also need to fill out an Express TAP Application (ETA) for full-time students. For part-time undergraduate students, fill out the Federal FAFSA form and a Veterans Tuition Award Supplement. For part-time graduate students, fill out only the Veterans Tuition Award Supplement. The New York State Senate: Richard J. Roth Journalism Fellowship is in the whopping amount of $29,500. per year, but there is only one such award given per year. The deadline for the application is May 6th. The award is open to college graduate students and college doctoral students in any field of study, but it is a plus if the student is in the field of communication, public affairs, or journalism. You must be a resident of New York or attend graduate school in New York. This fellowship provides for a 10-month internship in the New York State Senate Press Office.
