There are some varied and helpful grants available in the state of Utah for students wanting to pursue a degree. The Terrel H. Bell Teaching Incentive Loan Program (TILP) was previously called the Utah Career Teaching Scholarship. To be eligible you must enroll in a college major in a teacher certification subject area at a Utah college or university. Your loan does not have to be repaid if you teach for a specific number of years after you graduate .
The Western Undergraduate Exchange is a program within the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) that lets residents of Utah enroll at certain two and four year colleges outside of Utah at a reduced tuition cost. The participating states are: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming .
The New Century Scholarship Program available in Utah lets students speed up their education by attempting to get an A.A. degree in high school. If you maintain a B average, then you can get a scholarship for a maximum of three-fourths of your tuition that may be utilized at a four-year college or university in Utah or at Brigham Young University or Westminster College. With the available school grants and scholarships in Utah, any student’s future looks bright.

Professional Development Grant
The Professional Development Grant is a competitive grant program that is open to linguistic graduate students to apply for if they participate in professional conferences and or conventions that are of a scholarly nature. This grant money goes towards decreasing the costs that are associated with presenting academic papers at these academic events. This grant that is administered at the state level. However applicants are also required to apply to the post secondary institution that they attend in order to apply for funds to match that of the Professional Development Grant. Those who apply for this grant must submit their curriculum vitae, a letter of reference, a Department of Linguistic application form and a travel budget.
Utah Centennial Opportunity Program for Education Grant
The Utah Centennial Opportunity Program for Education Grant is open to students in Utah who are attending colleges or universities who are participating in this program. Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need in their application form. Applicants must be willing to accept a community job, a school assistance job or a work-study assignment in order to be approved for this grant money. This grant provides not only monetary funds but also work study opportunities for students attending eligible institutions of higher learning in the state. Those who wish to apply for this grant program must be enrolled on a full-time basis at a four year college or university.
