You must be enrolled at least 75% time as an undergraduate student or at least 50% time as a graduate student at a college in Minnesota. You need to show financial need and qualify for either a Pell or State Grant. And you need to fill out the FAFSA; the Minnesota Indian Scholarship application; and the application for tribal education funds. You can get up to $5,350 in Minnesota with a Federal Pell Grant. To apply for a Federal Pell Grant, you need to fill out the FAFSA. You may be eligible to get a Pell grant with a family income up to $60,000, but the majority of Pell grants go to students with family incomes less than $30,000 per year. Pell Grants are available to undergraduate students attending a college in Minnesota.
You can get up to $4,000 a year in Minnesota with a Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG). To apply for a SEOG grant, you need to fill out the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate enrolled at least half-time at a Minnesota college, university, or vocational school. If you are already eligible for a Pell Grant, then you will be given priority for receiving a SEOG grant.

This grant is reserved for adults who would like to attend a Minnesota Community College. The money from this grant can be used to pay for one course and the textbooks for that class.
