School Grants in Pennsylvania

Finding school grants in Pennsylvania is not difficult for those who are willing to practice diligence and persistence. There are many grants and scholarships available to college students in Pennsylvania. Here are some of them described below:

The Pennsylvania State grant may award you up to $4,000 per academic year. Fill out the FAFSA to apply. The award amount depends on the cost of education at the college you plan to attend as an undergraduate in Pennsylvania, and it depends on your financial need considering your expected family contribution. To be eligible for the Pennsylvania State grant you must: 1) be a Pennsylvania resident; 2) have a high school diploma or GED; 3) have financial need; 4) attend a Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) – approved college or university in Pennsylvania; 5) be enrolled at least half-time; 6) complete inside the classroom at least half of the total credits required for completing the degree; 7) keep up satisfactory academic progress; 8) be a first-time bachelor’s degree seeker; and 9) not be in default on any college loans.

There are two scholarships awarded per year for about $2,500 each from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship Program. The award can be renewed for up to four years of college. The scholarship is available for all high school seniors who want to apply and plan to enroll in a Pennsylvania university, college, or technical school. Students who are awarded the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship may also be eligible to get matching funds from SAGE Scholars, Inc. and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency’s (PHEAA) PATH Program. The Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship is administered by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC).

If you are planning to attend the college of engineering at a school in Pennsylvania, then the Society of Professional Engineers may award you a PEF Grant of $2,000. Two PEF Grants will be awarded per year. The grant is need-based, and is available to undergraduate freshman students. Another grant available to undergraduate students in Pennsylvania is the $1,000 Harrisburg Chapter Society of Professional Engineers Grant. Two Harrisburg grants will be awarded per year. Additionally, there are two, $1,000 grants available called the Professional Engineers in Private Practice Grant.

If you are an upperclassman in the college of engineering at a school in Pennsylvania, then the Society of Professional Engineers offers a $2,000 Pennsylvania Engineering Foundation Grant.

The Faber Fellowship is a $2000 award offered by the Society of Professional Engineers to graduate engineering students in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia Biblical University Grant

The Philadelphia Biblical University Grant is a newer grant in the state and is a financial need-based grant that is also dependent upon the academic achievements of the student in question and is based upon information provided in the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) form. It is also open to financially disadvantaged students of full-time Christian workers and those who show an interest in music and excel in such. This education grant in Pennsylvania is only open to full-time undergraduate students in the state. The amount of money given to students who are approved for it is based upon the student’s SAT/ACT scores as well as his/her GPA scores.

Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality Grant

Here is a very modern grant opportunity in the state that is available for students who are in college or university who are conducting research in the realm of human sexuality. Students who apply for this grant must be attending an accredited college in Pennsylvania or a university or technical institution in the state.
