You can get a scholarship from between $2,300 to $6,000 annually from Education Quest. In order to be eligible you must meet the following criteria: 1) you need to be a Nebraska resident; 2) you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. permanent resident; 3) pursuing your first associate or bachelor degree; 4) be enrolled at an eligible academic institution in Nebraska; 5) you must fill out the FAFSA and be eligible for a Pell Grant; 6) you must not owe repayment on a student grant; 7) you must be enrolled at least half-time; and 
you must keep up satisfactory academic progress. This scholarship is renewable annually. Usually, each college refers 3 students to this program.
The Miriam Croft Moeller Citizenship Award is a scholarship for Nebraska residents with an award of up to $2,000 depending on available funds. The scholarship is administered by the Lincoln Community Foundation. An application to apply for this scholarship is available at: http://www.lcf.org/page29412.cfm. You need to submit the application form and the following to the Lincoln Community Foundation: 1) your official high school transcript; 2) a letter of recommendation fro a high school teacher or counselor; 3) your original essay of one to three pages discussing your interest in community betterment and positive leadership. The application deadline is April 30th of each year.
If you are an outstanding graduating high school senior in Nebraska, then you may qualify to get up to $1,500 in scholarship money from the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship program. This is a federally funded scholarship program which is merit-based. You must be accepted to a four-year college or university in or outside of Nebraska, and you must have a GPA of at least 3.5 along with very good ACT test scores. To apply for the Robert C. The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Nebraska Student Aid Grant are one-time grant awards that are made available to veterans or the children of veterans who financially need help in order to enroll in a college or university in the state. Those wishing to apply for this grant must be attending or planning to attend a college, university or technical institute that offers two and four years programs of study. Applicants are required to have a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) to apply.
Nebraska Elkes Association Vocational Scholarship Grants
This vocational scholarship grant in the state of Nebraska is available to all seniors graduating from Nebraska high schools to apply for. Applicants must have plans to attend a vocational or technical program to earn an associate degree, a certificate or a diploma that is two years in length or less. Applicants for this grant are chosen based on their grades, their test scores, the aptitude they show towards the occupation they wish to pursue and their motivation levels.
Nebraska Postsecondary Education Award Grant Program
This grant program is open to all Nebraska students who can show that they have a financial need for the government funds. Applicants must be attending or must be planning to attend an institution of higher education in the state of Nebraska. While both full-time students as well as part-time students can apply for this grant priority will be given to full-time students. The amount of money given to students depends upon how much the person needs.
